EXES MUST FALL
Men are very
interesting creatures.
I mean, you
commit yourself to someone wholeheartedly, love, respect and appreciate them.
And guess what?.. they take you for granted and play you like a violin.
At the time,
you are so caught up in your feelings for this person and the fantasy you have
created in your head, of a happily ever after. You believe that things will
work out eventually. You put in all your effort towards the relationship. But
the truth is, you can never force anyone into valuing or appreciating you.
It has
become crystal clear that this love is not being reciprocated. He is less bothered about you and does not
care whether you are coming or going. He is too busy for you.
You on the
other hand are hell bent at trying to show him how much you care. Trying, but
trying a tad too much.
You sit
around hoping that he will call, hoping that he will text, hoping that he will
make time for you, hoping he will talk to you . Hoping, but hoping too hard!
I am
reminded of a sermon by the renown, Pastor T.D. Jakes, with a very sensible
quote; “..Stop watering things that were never meant to grow in your life. No matter how much you water concrete, you
can never grow a garden”. Yet there you are, watering concrete and hoping to
grow a garden. Mission Impossible!
Eventually,
and after you have thoroughly exhausted all your efforts and are all cried out,
you make a conscious decision to let go and move on with your life. You start
dating other males and ‘exploring
other avenues’. Oh, I have purposely
bolded and underlined “exploring other avenues”. Avenues in this case being
………. Hahahaha, Go figure! But yeah… other, bigger and better avenues! And you
are pleased to discover that Home was never like this! You soon discover that
there are better people out there, better in character, better in personality.
Wayyyyy better than your Ex(es).
Months pass,
years even! You totally forget about that male who did you wrong. You are in a
very good space, most importantly, you are HAPPY! J
One fine
day, out of the blue, you receive a call from a strange number (yeah, of course
you deleted his number), and guess who is on the line? Yup, If it isn’t ‘Mr.
Too Damn Good”!! His once arrogant tone of voice, now soft and meek as an
angel. He is calling to check how you have been.
The calls
keep coming, the texts start pouring in, and next thing this male is blowing up
your phone!
He wants to
take you out on a date. He wants to spend time with you. He wants to hang out
with your family. Oh, he also wants to marry you. Ncooooh…..Hahahaha! Yes, all
the things you probably wished for and hoped for while you guys were still
together, only, a little too late… A little, too late!
You sit back
and recall the past and all the pain you went through. You remember all those
nights you cried yourself to sleep. You remember all his escapades and
shenanigans and you feel angry all over again.
So, here is
this male, talking about “ I love you”, “I am sorry”, “Please give us another
chance”. Aaah aaah….. Talk to the hand! Bro, that ship sailed!
Besides, why
would I want to interfere with KARMA’s
work in your life?
So, come now
dude, KNEES TO CHEST, KNEES TO CHEST!!
That’s RIGHT! Do some STEPPING!!
You know, I
am sitting here thinking to myself right now, why is it that, for some strange
reason, I always have ‘come backs’
with these people of the past? These
earthlings crop up and pop up out of nowhere, and they hope to find, yours
truly, doing what exactly? Sitting around and idling? How? Pray tell….. *shaking
my head*
Like, go
find another pond!
*flicks hair, whistles, struts off*
Till next
week, much love and God bless.
